Known as "Kufour gallon" during the water crises in Kufour's administration. The basic function of the yellow container is to collect water.

In Jeremiah Quarshie's newest series of paintings, they are inspiration for artmaking.

The domestic function of the yellow containers have become a content in the recent work of prominent Ghanaian artists.

The quotidian vessels are used in Ghana all over. Later in this month in Quarshie's  "Yellow is the Colour of Water" at Gallery 1957 in Accra's Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, females are surrounded by the jerry cans, re-created to appear like thrones.
