Kurt Okraku hails “inspiring” 47th CAF General Assembly in Kinshasa

CAF 2nd Vice-President and GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has praised the 47th CAF General Assembly as a landmark moment for African football, describing the five-day gathering in Kinshasa, DR Congo as “eventful and inspiring.”
The Assembly, presided over by CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe, brought together executive members and delegates from all 54 Member Associations, with discussions centered on sustainability, youth development, infrastructure, and financial accountability.
“It was a period of meaningful engagement, constructive dialogue and forward-thinking discussions aimed at shaping the future of our beautiful game on the continent,” Okraku said.
Unity, Transparency, and Strategic Vision
Okraku commended the spirit of collaboration and shared commitment to progress, noting that under Motsepe’s leadership, CAF is building a globally competitive and commercially sustainable football ecosystem.
“The deliberations reflected a shared commitment to progress, transparency and sustainable growth, reaffirming that African football is indeed on the rise.”
A key highlight was the presence of FIFA President Gianni Infantino and senior members of his team, reaffirming FIFA’s strategic support for African football’s transformation.
“We were deeply honored by the presence of FIFA President Gianni Infantino… whose continued partnership remains invaluable.”
CAF’s long-term vision is anchored in:

Okraku closed with a message of optimism and unity:
