Ghanaian international Kwabena Owusu has completed a move to Turkish Super Lig side Sakaryaspor, returning to a league he knows well as the club looks to strengthen its fight against relegation.

The 28-year-old joins Sakaryaspor after a short spell with Israeli outfit Maccabi Bney Reine, whom he signed for in September 2025. His switch back to Turkey marks a familiar chapter in his career, having previously featured for Ankaragücü earlier in 2025.

Owusu’s arrival is seen as a timely boost for Sakaryaspor, who are seeking attacking firepower and experience as they battle to secure their top-flight status in the closing stages of the season.

The forward’s versatility and international pedigree were key factors behind the move, with club officials hopeful he can make an immediate impact and help steady the team during a crucial period.

For Owusu, the transfer offers a chance to rediscover rhythm and influence in a competitive league he has already adapted to, while also keeping himself firmly in contention for future Black Stars call-ups.

As Sakaryaspor brace themselves for a tense relegation run-in, the Ghanaian’s return to Turkish football could prove decisive in their bid for survival.
