Watford suffered a frustrating 2-1 defeat at Turf Moor as Burnley held on for victory in a tightly contested Championship clash.
Despite a valiant effort and a late goal from Kwadwo Baah, the Hornets were unable to secure a point.
The match began with Burnley taking the lead in the 9th minute. Jaidon Anthony latched onto a cross from Josh Brownhill and calmly slotted the ball into the net.
Burnley extended their advantage in the 62nd minute, with Brownhill curling a beautiful shot into the top corner following a precise pass from Hannibal Mejbri.
Watford responded in the 80th minute when Kwadwo Baah capitalized on a corner and fired a stunning right-footed shot into the top right corner.
Baah, who played the full 90 minutes, brought energy and drive to his side’s attack, but despite their efforts, Watford could not break down Burnley’s defense.
The Hornets will now look to regroup and bounce back when they face Portsmouth on December 26th.
