Ghanaian forward Kwadwo Opoku played a pivotal role in CF Montreal's 2-0 victory over Chicago Fire FC in their MLS clash at Stade Saputo.

Coming off the bench in the 72nd minute to replace Bryce Duke, Opoku made an immediate impact, providing the assist for Caden Clark’s decisive goal just two minutes after his introduction.

Opoku's perfectly timed pass allowed Clark to slot the ball into the bottom right corner, securing Montreal's win in front of an energized home crowd.

The assist marked Opoku's first of the season, complementing his two goals in 13 appearances.

Earlier in the match, Josef Martínez opened the scoring for Montreal in the 21st minute with a well-placed shot from the center of the box.

Despite Chicago Fire FC dominating possession and generating more shots, they struggled to breach Montreal's solid defense.

With this victory, CF Montreal will look to carry the momentum into their next game against San Jose Earthquakes on September 28th.
