Ghanaian striker Kwame Peprah came off the bench to score the match-winner in Kerala Blasters FC's thrilling 2-1 victory against East Bengal FC in the Indian Super League.
The clash, held at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, saw East Bengal take the lead in the 59th minute through Vishnu Puthiya’s close-range finish.
Kerala Blasters quickly hit back just four minutes later, as Noah Sadaoui leveled the score with a well-placed shot into the bottom left corner.
The match appeared to be heading for a draw until the 88th minute, when Peprah, who had replaced Spanish forward Jesús Jiménez in the 75th minute, capitalized on a pass from Mohammed Aimen and struck a powerful left-footed shot into the bottom right corner.
Peprah’s goal, his first of the 2024/25 season, helped secure Kerala Blasters' second consecutive win.
With two matches under his belt, the Ghanaian striker will look to build on this momentum as Kerala Blasters prepare for their next game against Northeast United FC on September 29th.
