Former Black Stars forward Kwesi Appiah delivered a sensational performance, netting a second-half hat-trick to secure Boreham Wood's emphatic 3-0 victory over local rivals St Albans City in the National League.

The 34-year-old broke the deadlock in the 60th minute with a powerful header following a goalless first half.

Ten minutes later, Appiah doubled Boreham Wood’s lead, capitalizing on a brilliant pass from Ilesamni to slot home.

He completed his hat-trick just two minutes later with a stunning curler, sealing the win at Mangata Pay UK Stadium Meadow Park.

Appiah’s remarkable form in the English sixth tier continues, with this latest performance taking his tally to nine goals in 14 matches for the season.

Once a standout player for Ghana, Appiah gained national admiration during the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea, where he scored two goals in seven matches, helping the Black Stars to the final.

Despite his career being significantly impacted by injuries, his recent exploits with Boreham Wood highlight his enduring quality and resilience.
