Former Ghana international Laryea Kingston has named his all-time best Black Stars XI from his playing days, reflecting on the standout players he had the privilege of playing alongside.

Kingston, who made 40 appearances for Ghana and scored six goals, selected a 4-4-2 formation with the following players:

  • Goalkeeper: Richard Kingson

  • Defenders: John Paintsil (Right-back), John Mensah (Center-back), Eric Addo (Center-back), Hans Adu Sarpei (Left-back)

  • Midfielders: Laryea Kingston (himself), Stephen Appiah, Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari

  • Forwards: Asamoah Gyan, Matthew Amoah

Kingston, who debuted for the Black Stars in 2002, had a significant role in the team, and his selection showcases the strength of the squad during his era.

His retirement from international football in 2010 came after being left out of the World Cup squad for the second time, marking the end of a memorable international career.
