Laryea Kingston warns Ghana coach Otto Addo about Sudan's tactics ahead of AFCON Qualifier

Former Ghana international Laryea Kingston has urged national team coach Otto Addo to remain vigilant regarding Sudan's tactics in their upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Libya on Tuesday.
Kingston noted that the cautious game plan employed by Sudan in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium suggests that Kwesi Appiah's side will adopt a more aggressive approach in the rematch.
The match is set to take place at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Benghazi.
“I know very well that if I'm a coach going into the next leg of the game, especially on the opponent's home ground, and considering the way they played against us—being careful, managing the game very well by sitting back and sometimes stringing two or three passes together,” he explained to Joy Sports.
“That should automatically indicate to me that when I play against them at their home ground, they are likely to change their style and come at me.”
Kingston emphasized the importance of not becoming complacent.
“For me, going into that game, we shouldn't sit back. When we sit back and wait for them, like we do when applying mid-pressure, they start getting closer to our box and cause us problems. Trust me, panic will set in.”
Following the draw in the first leg, Sudan currently sits on four points in Group F, placing them two points ahead of Ghana, who are in third place and face the risk of missing out on the AFCON for the first time in 20 years.
