Renowned playwright and CEO of Globe Productions, Latif Abubakar, has unveiled his 20th theatre production titled 'Ghana Must Go.'

This launch took place at the Pelican Hotel in Accra on Thursday, May 15, 2025 in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking during the launch, he stated that Globe Productions has successfully brought to "life 19 powerful publications."

"Over the past decade and a half, Globe productions have brought to life 19 powerful productions that have inspired, challenged and entertained people around the world. Today we present our 20th milestone production titled Ghana Must Go. The first ever play that brings to stage the Ghana story in full, who we are, what we have and why the world must come to Ghana to experience and invest,' he said.

The playwright also revealed that Globe Productions was the first theatre company to stage a virtual play on COVID-19, which was supported by the Ministry of Health and reached over 3.5 million views.

According to him, the 'Ghana Must Go' production is a theatrical experience that will play a central role in Ghana's cultural diplomacy.

"Ghana Must Go' is not just another play - it is the flagship theatrical experience of the Big Push Ghana Project, a key feature of the Blackstar Experience, an initiative by the government of Ghana aimed at elevating our national visibility through culture-driven investment diplomacy."

Present at the launch were the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon Abla Dzifa Gomashie and the President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Albert Kwabena Dwumfuor.

The Director of Arts and Culture, Divine Owusu Ansah and the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority were also present.

As Special Guest of Honour, Hon Abla Dzifa Gomashie, praised the initiative saying, "Ghana Must Go is an invitation for the world to join Ghana, not only as the land of heritage and hospitality but as a land of investments, innovations and endless possibilties."

The GJA President also emphasised the importance of the media in amplifying the project's reach.

"Let us cover this story not just as another event but as a national movement. Let us dedicate airtime, coral space and digital real estate to telling the world that this play represents. The creativity, resilience, warmth and untapped potential of Ghana," he said.
