After scoring in the past weekend and committing his future to Cercle Brugge by signing a 4-year contract last Thursday, Lawrence Agyekum opened the scoring for his side yet again with a stunning goal against Patro Eisden in the Belgian Pro League Relegation Playoffs on the 8th minute on Sunday, May 18.
Agyekum gave Brugge an early lead in the 8th minute after connecting with a sublime backheel pass from teammate Felipe Augusto.
His teammate, Paris Brunner scored a brace in the 25th and 46th minutes respectively and the creator of his early goal in the game, Felipe Augusto scored the fourth goal in the 58th minute, before Thibo Somers sealed the emphatic victory for the visitors at the Patro Stadium.
Patro Eisden had the consolation goal of the day through Vancy Romeo Mabanza but was not enough to claim a point against Agyekum’s side.
The talent 21-year old Ghanain has now scored 3 Goals and provided 2 Assists for the Belgian outfit this season.
He made his Black Stars debut in March against Chad in the 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers as he came on as substitute for Thomas Partey on the 83rd minute and since then, he has been on a blistering form as he scored and assisted in the game against Kortrijk which was just after he made his Black Stars debut; he went on to picking up the Player of the Month award for the month of March for his club.
His compatriot, Abu Francis also started the game and lasted 73 minutes.
