Ghanaian international and Cercle Brugge midfielder, Lawrence Agyekum has noted that the Black Stars team will give it their all to ensure the nation seals a ticket for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
With four qualifying games still left to play to earn a ticket to the Mundial, the Black Stars are looking to clinch their fifth ever World Cup berth as they sit atop of group I in the qualifying series after six games with 15 points, three points above Comoros who are in second place.
Agyekum, who featured in the Matchday 5 of the qualifying games against Chad in March before earning another call-up for the Unity Cup in May said in an exclusive interview with Joy Sports that the team are very determined to qualify the nation to the Mundial again and implores that the fans rally behind the team to achieve this feat.
"With the support of the fans, [we can make it to the World Cup]. We need the fans behind the team because we can't do it without them,"
The 21-year-old midfielder has set sights on the 2026 FIFA World Cup and is determined to make it to the global showpiece as he sees it to be the dream stage of every footballer, to represent their country in that regard.
