A renowned News anchor with the Angel Broadcasting Network, Nana Agyei Obrempong CP says the government of Ghana should consider criminalizing prophecies that predict winner of general election.

It has been a routine in the country that prior to every general elections some self acclaimed prophets would be prophesying and predicting winner of the elections.

Mr. Patrick Agyei as known in his private life on Accra based Angel FM monitored by GhanaGuardian said, "henceforth, there should be a law to ban prophecies about election in Ghana".

"Any prophet who prophesies about election should be arrested and prosecuted". He stated.

According to him, the reason why some people do not want to accept election results because a prophet has said they will win.

Obrempong CP cited, Prophet Nigel Gaisie who is insisting the NDC has been cheated in the 2020 elections.

"If you believe in your prophet and he tells this, would the person accept and concede defeat". He quizzed

"Today, politicians believe in prophecies and spiritualism than vote casting that is why all the parties have gone for prophets as their spiritual heads”. Obrempong CP lamented.

He quoted the Biblical 1 Samuel 9:15-16...and urged the prophets in Ghana to learn.

Agyei Obrempong CP is optimistic that when such steps is taking it will stop the so called prophet from prophesying and predicting winners of which always creates political tension in the country .
