The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Madam Catherine Afeku, has urged Ghanaian musicians to support the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) and make it their own.

Madam Afeku was speaking today, September 18, 2018 at an event at the Kempinski Hotel to confirm Ghana as host nation of the AFRIMA for the next three years.

It will start with this year’s edition which will take place at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, November 24.

“This is an award scheme that unites all African musicians and I believe the musicians have the power to make it their own by promoting it and making it big,” the Minister said.

She expressed happiness at being part of AFRIMA adding that she will make sure the event is successful.

“We have the facilities, security and everything ready to host the event and we are sure of a successful show come November 24,” she said.

The President and the Executive Producer of AFRIMA, Mike Dada noted that the event is very transparent and that’s what makes it credible.

From left, musicians Kuami Eugene, King Promise, Manifest, Samini and Jupitar were at the event.

AFRIMA has come to stay and our outfit is happy Ghana is hosting it for three years. We hope this union will not end here,” he added.

Mike Dada urged musicians who have earned nominations to encourage the fans to vote for them.

“The only way a musician can win is to tell his or her fans to vote massively for them," he said.

Musicians including Jupitar, Stonebwoy, Samini, Agbeshi, Kuami Eugene, King Promise and Feli Nuna were at the event to show their support.
