The founder and leader of the Glorious Word Ministry International, Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah has reacted to the attack on his church by some Muslim youth following his doom prophecy that the Chief Imam will die this year.
Owusu Bempah had claimed during the 31st night service in his church that God had revealed to him that former presidents Kufuor and Mahama and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia could die this year unless they take firm spiritual actions.
He also claimed to have witnessed signs that seem to suggest that the Chief Imam, Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharubutu, could die in 2019.
He then urged the Islamic community to pray for their spiritual leader.
Since the video of his prophecy popped up on the internet, Owusu Bempah has come under a lot of bashing from many Muslims who have condemned his wild prophecy.
Believed to be from Nima and other Zongo communities in Accra, this group of youth had wanted to exhibit their anger by physically attacking Owusu Bempah but it turned out that the prophet was not around as there was no church service.
In a video from the scene which the youth, some of whom were wielding machetes could be seen trooping to the church premises of the Owusu Bempah with some vandalising items including a giant signpost in front of the church's wall.
But in his first reaction to the attack Owusu Bempah who sounded unperturbed quoted from Matthew 16:18 which says “…I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it”.
“Let’s pray for the church and let’s be strong as Christians,” the post added.
In a related development, the kinsmen of the vice president, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, have responded to Owusu Bempah's prophecy of Bawumia's death in 2019.
According to reports, Bawumia's family stated Owusu Bempah’s prophecy will not come to pass and even if the death should happen, their son does not fear death but Allah.
In a swift response to the prophecy, Dr. Bawumia’s family stated that their son fears Allah, and not death.
