The Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Non-governmental organisation, Growth Aid, for the construction of nine mechanised boreholes for some selected communities in the area.

The NGO per the MOU, will also repair 10 of the existing damaged boreholes for other eight communities.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Lower Manya Krobo, Mr Simon Kweku Tetteh speaking after signing the MOU expressed appreciation to the NGO for coming to the aid of the people to provide quality drinking water.

The MCE entreat all the stakeholders present at the gathering to play an active role in supporting this partnership which aims at providing portable water to the people living in the middle belt, to motivate the NGO to do more after the first phase of the agreement.

Mrs Rachel Annan, Head of Operations for Growth Aid who led the team from the NGO to the signing of the MoU acknowledged that their outfit saw the need to respond to the emergency need of the good people of Tsledom in the middle belt of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.

She, however, assure the gathering of their maximum commitment to support the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality to make portable water accessible to the good people living in the hard to reach areas.
