A total of 50 youth have graduated from the Madina Job Centre with skills in Website Development, blogging, Graphic Design and other technology-based businesses after four weeks of intensive skills training conducted by Zimba Media.

Dubbed the technopreneur, the 4weeks weeks training exercise was led by Dr. Yakubu Yusuf, a Medical Practitioner who doubles as the creative Director of Zimba Media.

The youth drawn from communities within the constituency were trained free of charge after going through a pre-training registration with the Job Centre.

The Medina Job Centre which is described as a poverty alleviation centre was established by the Member of Parliament for Madina, Francis Xavier Sosu, to help reduce the high rate of unemployment among youth in the Constituency.

The training was part of series of young entrepreneurship training sponsored by the MP, with the belief that such skills training is what required in the country of today where youths no longer get jobs after their education.

The graphic design skills training was done in collaboration with ZIMBA MEDIA AFRICA, a private media consulting company in Accra owned by Dr. Yakubu Tobor Yusuf, a medical doctor who works at the Kojach Medical Center.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony held on Saturday, April 17, 2021, Dr. Yakubu said the beneficiary students were taken through graphic designs, motion graphics and presentation skills under a computer literacy skills course.

He said over 64 youth applied but only 50 of them were shortlisted and they undergo four weeks of intensive training at the weekends on how to start their business, design logo, video presentation, among others.

The overall aim of the course, Dr. Yakubu said is part of the unemployment mitigation for the youth to get quick cash to solve their immediate needs, especially under the COVID-19 infected economy.

The 50 beneficiaries of the technopreneur trainee received know-how on Graphic Design, Website Design & Hosting, Blogging, motion graphics and Photography of which some of them have started their own business.

The Madina Job centre initiative is to alleviate poverty by promoting decent work and economic growth in the Madina Constituency and beyond.

The aim is to provide human-centric solutions to promote socio-economic development in the constituency.
