Former President John Mahama has started a political campaign against Hon. Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the MP for Nsawam-Adoagyiri.

Hon. Annoh-Dompreh, who also serves as the Majority Chief Whip, is accused by Mr. Mahama of seriously undermining the works of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Parliament.

The former President made the remarks during a meeting with NDC constituency leaders on Wednesday at Nsawam while on a campaign swing across the Eastern Region.

He asserts that Hon. Annoh-Dompreh persuades the minority faction to support all government ventures. Additionally, he asserted that the Nsawam-Adoagyiri lawmaker had succeeded in causing division among the NDC MPs.

Recent accusations of being in cahoots with the Majority Caucus have some NDC members upset with the Minority Caucus in Parliament for their determination to vote on every government matter.

After telling them to vote against any government activity, Mr. Mahama expressed concern about how the Minority MPs were defying the party's decision. He promised to do everything in his power to support the NDC in Nsawam and ensure that Annoh-Dompreh lost his seat.

Even though the NDC leadership has often attempted to persuade their MPs to vote against government businesses, Mr. Annoh-Dompreh has consistently succeeded in raising awareness among the Minority group in Parliament to support any government business.

According to reports, Annoh-Dompreh has developed strong bonds with the majority of NDC MPs, particularly their leaders. The NDC executive is not pleased with this.

Along with the parliamentary matter, Hon. Annoh-Dompreh has been criticizing John Mahama on the political front by bringing to light several instances of corruption in his administration.

Mr. John Mahama said he will take all step possible to guarantee Annoh-Dompreh departs Parliament, but he did not specify the precise strategies he will employ to bring about his loss.
