National Treasurer for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Abankwa Yeboah has appealed to the conscience of former President John Dramani Mahama to accept defeat in the just-ended 2020 general election.

According to him, the NDC Presidential Candidate has not been able to state in his several press conferences the exact mistake in the Presidential election results except to incite the youth in the NDC to rise up to create disarray in the country, claiming the EC has rigged the election.

“We were expecting Mr Mahama to give evidence to any issue he has with the results; you have not said anything about the figures given you in the election and yet you claim the EC has rigged the election and so your supporters should rise up to fight,” he said.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Mr Abankwa Yeboah insisted that the NDC leadership is making an unfounded allegation about the Presidential election results as they have not been able to mention their score.

He remarked as a wrong approach for former President John Mahama and the NDC executives to continue to recount the 2020 general election as a flawed election when they are now gathering evidence from the various constituencies.

To him, former President John Dramani Mahama is risking the lives of innocent people by inciting them to foment trouble when his team is now gathering evidence to back their claim of a flawed election.

“They are risking the lives of innocent people by inciting them to foment troubles when you know that you are gathering evidence to back your claim of a flawed election . . . I will plead with him not to incite people . . . they should know that Ghana is a peaceful nation but you cannot walk over them,” he stated.

He further pleaded with former President Mahama to concede defeat as a statesman in order to redeem his name.
