National Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams has said Former President is an strong brand that cannot be damaged by the accusations of his opponents.

Mr. Adams who predicted a landslide victory for former President Mahama ahead of the party's internal race to elect a flagbearer, insisted that Mr Mahama is the most marketable candidate among the list of contenders who will recapture power for the NDC in 2020.

He said Mahama remains the most marketable product capable of returning the party to power in 2020.  Attempts by opponents to paint him black will not wash because the Mahama brand is like coca-cola.

Speaking in an interview with Joy News, he said; "All other categories of drinks have come. They have done all kinds of adverts to undermine coca-cola but it continues to be coca-cola",

Kofi Adams is however unmoved by the electoral test John Mahama faces and said it is "so clear" and "vividly written" that Mahama will "win handsomely"

The NDC National Organiser who is seeking to contest a parliamentary seat said John Mahama is like a rock. "If you don't take care you will get damaged".

"Anything below 90%  for me will be like an under performance", he said.

"It means our people didn’t do well" Kofi Adams said and expressed confidence the endorsement "will be more than that".

Mr Mahama, through Mr Daniel Ohene Agyekum, former Ambassador to the United States, presented his official letter of intent to run for the flag bearer slot, to the party’s Adabraka headquarters on Thursday, 23 August 2018.

His letter of intent was presented on his behalf by a group of party heavy weights including former ministers of state like Inusah Fuseini and Sherry Ayitey.

Mr. Mahama joins a lineup of aspirants which includes the Nadowli Kaleo MP, Alban Bagbin, the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Sylvester Mensah, Dr. Ekwow Spio Garbrah; a former Trade and Industry Minister; Former Vice Chancellor of the University for Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof. Joshua Alabi and Cape Coast South MP, and Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, Stephen Atubiga who have declared their intent to contest for the slot.

Meanwhile, the NDC has slated December 7, 2018, for the election of its flagbearer for the 2020 presidential election.
