It was only his fourth game of the season for the Mauve and Whites. Majeed, who was viewed to be leaving RSC Anderlecht in the summer, could not finalize on a move and as was viewed as “surplus to requirements,” he got “frozen” in the senior squad and is open for a move in January. According to Belgian Media outlet, SMS News, the Black Stars midfielder is linked to fellow Jupiler Pro League club KRC Genk.
The 28-year old joined the RSC Anderletcht U23 side to keep himself in shape ahead of the January transfer window. Ashimeru, since joining the Belgium outfit permanently since July 2021, has featured in 129 games, scored nine times and provided 6 assists in all. The former Red Bull Salzburg, St Gallen, Wolfsberger AC and Austria Lustenau midfield sensation will be heading out of the Belgium club in the winter window.
Ashimeru’s goal highlights his determination to stay sharp despite being sidelined from Anderlecht’s senior squad. With Genk circling, the January window could mark a fresh chapter for the Ghanaian playmaker, who remains eager to re-establish himself at the top level of Belgian football.
