Legendary Ghana football icon Malik Jabir has expressed his concerns about Black Stars head coach Otto Addo, stating that he "lacks a bit of that fire, that passion" needed to effectively lead the senior national team.

This criticism comes in the wake of Ghana's disappointing 2-0 defeat to Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, a result that has further complicated the team's path to qualification.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Akoma FM, Jabir did not hold back his disappointment, insisting that Otto Addo must be fired for not contributing positively during his tenure.

“Otto Addo must be fired; he has not been helpful to our squad,” he stated.

Ghana's current situation in Group F is precarious, as they sit five points behind second-placed Sudan.

With upcoming matches against in-form Angola, who reached the quarter-finals of the 2024 AFCON, the pressure on the Black Stars to perform is mounting.

The team faces an uphill battle to secure their spot in the tournament, and Jabir's call for a coaching change reflects the urgency felt by many fans and football analysts alike.
