Asante Kotoko's newly appointed technical director, Malik Jabir, has expressed his joy after the club's victory against Future Stars in the Ghana FA Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors secured a 2-0 win over the Division One side at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
Jabir, a club legend and two-time CAF Champions League winner with Kotoko, recently assumed the role, succeeding James Kwesi Appiah, who now serves as the Head of Sporting Affairs.
Speaking after the game, Jabir shared his satisfaction with the positive start to his tenure. "I’m happy to start on a winning note.
I will pray and work hard so we can maintain momentum this season. I’m currently monitoring the players, and with time, I can help the coach with my input," he stated.
Kotoko will next face their fierce rivals, Hearts of Oak, in a much-anticipated Super Clash on December 14, 2024, at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The Ghana Premier League is on pause due to the upcoming General Elections this weekend.
The Porcupine Warriors are currently seventh on the league table with 18 points from 12 matches, and Jabir is optimistic about improving the team’s performance as the season progresses.
