Residents of Dunkwa Akyempim in the Central Region have been left in shock after a man allegedly set his family home ablaze, killing his wife and six children, before taking his own life.
The incident, which occurred around 2 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, is believed to have been carried out in a fit of rage, though the motive remains unclear.
According to eyewitness accounts, the man reportedly poured petrol inside the room where his family was sleeping, locked the doors, and set the building on fire.
The inferno completely consumed the structure, killing all occupants. The suspect was later found dead in a nearby bush, where he is believed to have hanged himself after committing the act.
Police have since launched an investigation into the tragic incident, as the community mourns the loss of the seven victims in what many have described as one of the most horrific events in recent memory.
