The Kasoa Ofaakor Circuit Court has remanded Moses Ganyo into police custody for allegedly murdering his girlfriend at Awutu Yamoah Nkwanta in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.

Ganyo appeared before the court on Monday, January 12, 2025, following his arrest on January 7. Authorities say the victim was found in a pool of blood, with a concrete block reportedly placed on her face.

Police sources indicate that Ganyo, a resident of Oboman in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, had visited the deceased to spend the night. The alleged attack occurred after the woman reportedly rejected his sexual advances.

Preliminary reports suggest that the suspect first assaulted the woman with a cutlass, inflicting injuries to her face, before allegedly striking her head with a concrete block, causing her death.

Ganyo is scheduled to reappear in court on January 26 as investigations continue.
