Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has completed a loan move to Trabzonspor for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.
The transfer, finalised just before the Turkish window shut on Friday, comes after the Cameroon international failed to feature in any of United’s opening three Premier League matches.
United confirmed the deal, subject to international clearance and registration, adding: “We would like to wish Andre good luck.”
Onana’s only outing this term came in the Carabao Cup, where United suffered a shock defeat to League Two side Grimsby Town.
The 29-year-old joined United in July 2023 from Inter Milan in a £47.2m deal, brought in by then-manager Erik ten Hag as David de Gea’s successor. He has made 102 appearances for the club, including playing a key role in their 2024 FA Cup triumph, though his time at Old Trafford has been marred by high-profile errors.
United’s current boss Ruben Amorim sanctioned the move after securing Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens, 23, from Royal Antwerp on deadline day for an initial €21m (£18.1m) plus add-ons. Amorim now has Lammens, Altay Bayindir, and Tom Heaton as his available goalkeeping options.
Trabzonspor also confirmed their capture of the Cameroonian international on loan as they took to the internet to welcome him:
