WHILE some celebrities have been open about their relationship struggles and their desire to settle down, the story is different for singer Nina Ricchie, who says she doesn’t see herself getting married.

According to her, she is not ready for the demands of marriage as she enjoys her independent status.

“Marriage is a crazy journey I don’t want to involve myself in. I am the kind of person who wants my freedom and I can’t afford to have my husband controlling me.

“I hate to be asked: where are you? What are you cooking for me? And all the things that come with marriage. I don’t think I am ready and will ever be ready,” Nina Ricchie told Showbiz.

Nina Ricchie disclosed that she's had a number of marriage proposals but she has refused them and has told the men she is not ready.

“I have not less than 10 men throwing marriage proposals at me in a month but I don’t just what to hear the word marriage,” she said.

Nina Ricchie also stated that despite the perception Ghanaians have about her, she is not promiscuous.

“I have been called so many names especially prostitute but I am very focused and only date one man at a time. I have had a lot of guys chasing after me but I tell them I am engaged,” she said.

She has a 10-year old son who she says is everything to her. “I am willing to risk my life for my son because he is everything to me. I love him from the bottom of my heart and I can confidently say he has made me a better person,” she said.

On the music front, the Black Avenue Muzik (BAM) signee said she was glad her song, Tsoobi, has enjoyed good reviews on YouTube.

Nina Ricchie added that she was looking forward to collaborating with some of the A- list artistes.

“My plan is to feature the likes of Sarkodie, Kuami Eugene, Stonebwoy, Efya on my songs and very soon that will happen,” she said.

She thanked D-Black for believing in her and signing her on to the BAM label.

Born to Madam Rose Donkor and Mr Kwasi Broni in Kumasi Mampong, Nina Ricchie has received a lot of bashing for some of the revealing outfits she has worn for events but she says doesn’t care what anyone thinks as long as she is happy.

“I loved the late Ebony a lot because she never paid attention to whatever anyone said. Instead she went ahead to do her own thing”,, she said.

A graduate of George Brown College in Canada, Nina said some Ghanaian thinks she is not talented and is using her body to become popular, a perception which is not true.

“It’s just a matter of time, Ghanaians will know who Nina is. I am very talented, I want people to listen to Tsoobi and Give It To Me and they will know that I am good,” she said.
