Are you waiting for your partner to choose you over others he/she is dating? Are you going around telling your friends to convince your boyfriend or girlfriend to take you to the altar?
Are you doing everything to suggest to the family of your boyfriend or girlfriend, that you are the better choice over others? Do you feel marriage to your current partner is like an election campaign you have to win at all cost?
This message is something you really need. Marriage is a matter of the heart and not just personality. Marriage is a love affair and not a policy. Marriage is a matter of conviction and not who is deemed right or suitable for one.
Many at times singles waste their time and resources lobbying for the position of a spouse which shouldn't be the case. They do all sorts of dirty things in the aid of winning the marriage proposal, not taking into consideration the feelings of the person involved.
Some even don't care whether their partner loves them or not; they believe that once they marry them, things will change, and their partners will learn to love them.
Others even send threats and warnings to people they see as competitors, to stay away from the man or woman they want to get married to.
My humble plea to you is, don't deceive anyone into marrying you; don't trick someone to settle down with you. If their heart is not with you, marriage can't keep them with you.
There is no need telling someone to choose you over another person because you are better. This is not a political campaign. This is an affair of the heart; it is about who your heart beats for and not what someone tells you.
The best you can do is to let the person be. Don't force yourself on them. He or she needs to decide on what is best. So don't waste time on someone who doesn't know what they want.
The woes of ladies is, once they are in love with you, they remain faithful and give an overdose of attention. They can even be treated poorly but are not willing to leave, in spite of knowing they are too good to be treated as such. These women think the guy will change but the truth is, he won't.
On the other hand the woes of guys is, they have a good woman whom they think will never leave them, yet they still go in for another woman. But eventually these good women get tired and move on.
Men, don't think she has no other options; she has countless men wanting her but she just doesn’t want to rush out, meet and entertain another person just like you.
Ladies you don't need to force a man to see how you feel about him, or lobby and campaign for his love; it is written all over you and in your eyes, if he can read it, he deserves your heart.
In conclusion "Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too" - Philippians 2:4 (NLT)
