Black Galaxies head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has announced a 26-man squad for the crucial 2024 African Nations Championships (CHAN) qualifiers against Nigeria.

The team features a strong defensive lineup, with Razak Simpson of Nations FC, Nurudeen Abdulai and Kamaradini Mamudu from Medeama SC, Kusi Asante of Vision FC, and Isaac Afful of FC Samartex 1996 leading the backline.

In midfield, Dramani has included Emmanuel Antwi of Asante Kotoko, Manuel Mantey from Medeama SC, and Ibrahim Hafiz of Attram de Visser to provide creativity and balance.

The attack will be spearheaded by Charwatey Faisal from Nations FC, Jerry Afriyie of Thoughts FC, Issah Yakubu of Basake Holy Stars, and Albert Amoah from Asante Kotoko SC.

The first leg of this highly anticipated clash will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 22, 2024, with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 PM local time.

The return leg will follow six days later on Saturday, December 28, in Nigeria.

As part of their preparations for the showdown, the Black Galaxies secured a morale-boosting victory over Togo in an international friendly last week.

This encounter marks the second consecutive time Ghana and Nigeria are meeting in CHAN qualifiers, with Ghana having narrowly edged out their rivals on penalties two years ago to secure a spot in the previous tournament.

The stakes are high as both teams aim to book their place in the 2025 CHAN tournament, set to be hosted across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
