Veteran forward Abednego Tetteh has sparked conversation in the Ghanaian football community with his recent comments on matches against Ghana’s two biggest clubs, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
Speaking after Heart of Lions' 1-0 victory over Asante Kotoko at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium, Tetteh described playing against these top clubs as the easiest games, particularly for younger players in the Premier League.
Tetteh, who turned 34 last month, shared his belief that matches against Hearts and Kotoko offer an ideal platform for young players to showcase their skills.
He pointed out that the spotlight these games attract makes them great opportunities for up-and-coming players to impress.
“Playing against Hearts and Kotoko are the easiest games to play in the Premier League. I've played against them severally, so I have the experience and what it takes to always face them,” Tetteh remarked in an interview with Sompa TV.
He further explained that experienced players like himself always encourage younger teammates to approach these fixtures with seriousness, as it could significantly boost their chances of getting noticed.
"The young players coming need such games to sell themselves and that's what we the experienced guys around always tell them," he added.
Despite his insightful advice, Tetteh has yet to score in seven league games this season, and will be hoping for a starting spot when Heart of Lions take on Berekum Chelsea in Kpando this weekend.
