Ghanaian forward Mathew Anim Cudjoe netted his first goal for Israeli side Bnei Sakhnin in a 2-1 victory over Beitar Jerusalem on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
The 20-year-old, who joined the club just three weeks ago on a free transfer, made an immediate impact in his third appearance for the team.
Cudjoe's standout moment came in the 54th minute when he fired a powerful shot from inside the box to double Bnei Sakhnin’s lead.
The goal was set up by a well-executed play that started near the center circle, where Cudjoe passed to Obeida Darwish on the right wing. Darwish then delivered an accurate cross into the box, allowing Cudjoe to finish with authority.
Earlier in the match, Cudjoe had already contributed with an assist, setting up Konstantinos Sotiriou for the opening goal in the 12th minute.
Although Beitar Jerusalem pulled one back in the 57th minute, Bnei Sakhnin held on to secure the win.
This goal marks an exciting start for Cudjoe in the Israeli Premier League, demonstrating his playmaking skills and finishing ability, and signaling his potential to become a key player for Bnei Sakhnin moving forward.
