South African club Black Leopards have officially confirmed the appointment of former Ghana assistant coach Maxwell Konadu on a three-year contract.

Konadu, 51, arrives from Nsoatreman FC in the Ghana Premier League, where he enjoyed a successful stint, winning the MTN FA Cup and securing a fourth-place finish in the 2023-24 season.

His extensive coaching background includes roles with Ghana's U20 and U23 teams, as well as serving as the Black Stars assistant coach from 2021 to 2022.

Konadu is also highly qualified, holding both the CAF Coaching Licence A and B.

Leopards chairman Tshifhiwa Thidiela expressed confidence in Konadu's ability to lead the team back to the South African Premiership.

"Yes, it’s true we can confirm that we’ve reached an agreement with Maxwell Konadu," Thidiela told reporters, as quoted by IDiski Times.

"He has an impressive CV and has recently completed a successful season in the Ghana Premier League. We believe he has the experience and skills to help us achieve our goal of promotion."

Thidiela further revealed that Konadu would be joined by two staff members of his choosing, while the rest of the technical team will be in place upon his arrival.

Solly Luvhengo will serve as his assistant, Thendayo as the goalkeeper coach, and Ndlovu as the physical trainer.

Black Leopards, who were relegated from top-flight football in the 2020-21 season, are determined to regain their status in the Premiership under Konadu's leadership.
