Ghanaian defender Maxwell Woledzi played a crucial role in helping Fredrikstad FK win the Norwegian Cup for the first time in 18 years.
The 22-year-old centre-back was instrumental in the team's defense during the final against Molde, which ended in a thrilling 0-0 draw after regular time.
The match was decided by penalties, with Fredrikstad emerging victorious 5-4, securing the long-awaited trophy. Woledzi made six appearances throughout the cup competition, contributing significantly to the team's success.
In addition to his cup performances, Woledzi had an impressive season, making 35 appearances in all competitions for Fredrikstad.
His defensive prowess was highlighted by his second-place ranking in interceptions (54) in the Norwegian Eliteserien, as Fredrikstad finished with the third-best defensive record in the league.
Woledzi, who joined Fredrikstad FK in August 2023 from FC Nordsjaelland, has been a key figure in the team and signed a contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2026.
