Defender Maxwell Woledzi has earned a spot in Norway's Team of the Year following an impressive season with Fredrikstad.
The 23-year-old, who joined the Norwegian club in the summer of 2023 from Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal, played a pivotal role as Fredrikstad finished the campaign in sixth place and claimed the Norway Cup, securing a spot in the Europa League qualifiers.
Woledzi, a standout in the heart of the defense, made 29 appearances throughout the 2024 season.
He recorded 54 interceptions, ranking second on the league's stats table.
His consistent performances were key to Fredrikstad's solid defensive record, earning him a place in the league’s best eleven of the season.
The former Ghana youth international, who came through the Right to Dream Academy before his move to Denmark's Nordsjaelland, is already attracting interest from top clubs across Norway and Scandinavia.
Despite the growing interest, Woledzi’s current contract with Fredrikstad runs until the summer of 2026.
