Medeama Football Club has landed in Conakry, Guinea, ahead of the crucial second-leg clash against AC Horoya in the CAF Champions League.
The Ghanaian champions arrived at the Ahmed Sékou Touré International Airport at 17:55 GMT, ready for the upcoming showdown on Saturday.
Upon their arrival, the team completed all necessary formalities at the airport before heading to their accommodation at the luxurious 4-star Atlantic View Hotel.
Medeama carries a 3-1 lead from the first leg of the competition and is determined to maintain this advantage as they seek to advance further in the tournament.
The Mauve and Yellow squad is delighted to welcome back some of their key players, including Jonathan Sowah and Fatawu Hamidu. These players had missed the Ghana Premier League game against Aduana due to minor injuries.
This journey marks a significant milestone for the Tarkwa-based club, as they aim to become the first Ghanaian team to reach the group stage of the CAF Champions League in nearly a decade since Berekum Chelsea achieved the feat.
Additionally, this represents the second time that Medeama has reached the stage of a continental championship, with their previous achievement coming in the CAF Confederation Cup in 2016.
Notably, Medeama progressed in the current competition by eliminating the Nigerian side Remo Stars in the first round through a dramatic penalty shootout victory in Ikenne.
