Medeama settles Nathaniel Asamoah $54,000 debt to avoid points deduction
19th November 2020
Medeama have settled their $54,000 indebtedness to their former striker Nathaniel Asamoah in a bid to prevent points deduction from the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The Tarkwa based side were ordered by the GFA to pay their former player $54,000 while also advancing $15,000 to the GFA or face a penalty of points deductions.
After settling the payments, the mauve and yellows have present proof of payment to the Ghana football Association.
The GFA Disciplinary Committee had enforced an Appeals Committee decision which ordered Medeama SC to pay its former player Nathaniel Asamoah (the Player) 40% of his transfer fee to Raja Casablanca as indicated in a “Transfer Agreement” between the Player and the Club.
Medeama SC's appeal against an earlier decision of the Player Status Committee failed after which the Player informed the GFA that the Club had failed to comply with the decision.
The club had until 18th November,2020 deadline to pay their former player $54,000 and $15,000 to the Ghana Football Association or suffered the penalty of being deducted three points for every league game they played in the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.
