President of policy think tank, IMANI Africa, has slammed President Nana Akufo-Addo for some of his comments at Wednesday’s encounter with the press.

Franklin Cudjoe suggested that the President acted like an intolerant leader when he responded to questions that were very critical of the administration.

Responding to a question about recent criticisms of his policies by civil society and the opposition NDC, the president said most of the darts that are thrown at him and his policies are dark spots that lack substance.

President Akufo-Addo rubbished corruption claims against his government on Wednesday

Reacting to this comment Franklin Cudjoe told Daniel Dadzie on the Super Morning Show Thursday that “it sounded to me like we were listening to a communist.”

Mr. Cudjoe explained that the behaviour of the President will embolden his appointees and foot soldiers of the party to take swipes at key persons who ask questions.

He added that it is very unfortunate for Mr. Akufo-Addo to behave in that manner considering he came from a CSO background himself.

Poorly organised programme?

The IMANI boss holds the view of several others who have expressed disappointment in the mode the encounter took.
According to him, the President merely gave a State of the Nation Address with most of the time allocated for the programme.

“…it was described as a media encounter, [so] it should be a media encounter,” he chided.
