Meet the youngest parliamentarian in the country after Election 2016

Parliamentary candidate for the NPP in the Kwabre East Constituency, Ms. Francisca Oteng Mensah will become the first university undergraduate and youngest person to enter parliament when it resumes for its next session in 2017.

Ms. Oteng Mensah, a 26-year old Law student of the Kwame Nkrumah University beat her contender from the NDC with more than 50,000 votes to massively win the seat.

She had 70,688 votes of the total valid ballots while her NDC counterpart had 15,003 votes. Francisca, a relatively new face in Ghanaian politics beat the incumbent Member of Parliament Kofi Frimpong by polling 321 votes.

Her popularity has grown ever since with a lot of people doubting if she was capable combining her studies with parliamentary work.  Francisca is the daughter of Dr Oteng Gyasi a doctor and the owner of the Angel Group of Companies.
