Some customers of the embattled Menzgold Gold Dealership are threatening a demonstration if the SEC does not reverse its decision on the company.

A section of angry customers of Menzgold in the Central Region have indicated their intention to go on a demonstration to the seat of the presidency, the Jubilee House. This plan is in reaction to the Security and Exchanges Commission (SEC) shutting down the business of the company.

According to Radiorainbowonline.com, the said customers intend to embark on their protest in the nude. They are reported to be mostly market women in and around Kasoa.

The market women have given an ultimatum to the SEC and the government to reverse the decision on Menzgold or face the shame that would come with their demonstration.

In the report, the women questioned the rationale for shutting down Menzgold especially in these times times in which they claim is an economically terrible one.

One reportedly quizzed: ‘’I want to ask government if they want us to go out there and prostitute our bodies? That is what I want to ask President Akufo-Addo.

We voted for him to assume the role as president but he has failed to give the youth jobs to do. God has brought in someone who has created jobs for us to do and government wants to close down the company."

Menzgold's business of paying monthly dividends on gold deposits was shut down by the SEC earlier this week. The Commission cited reasons of illegitimacy.

The company has so far indicated that it is closing down for a week so as to allow itself and SEC reach an agreement per the requirements of the law.
