The countdown is on for the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) grand finale, where Mfantsipim School, Opoku Ware School, and St. Augustine’s College will battle for academic glory at the SGS Auditorium, University of Cape Coast, on Thursday, November 6.

This year’s final promises to be a thrilling contest of intellect and prestige, featuring three former champions — each determined to etch their name deeper into the quiz’s rich history.

Mfantsipim School, the defending champions and three-time winners, are aiming for a back-to-back triumph after cruising past GSTS and Mankranso SHS in the semifinals. A victory would secure their fourth national title, solidifying their dominance in the competition.

Opoku Ware School, champions in 1997 and 2002, are chasing a long-awaited third title. The Akatakyie reached the finals with a commanding performance against St. Peter’s SHS and Achimota School, and now stand on the brink of reclaiming past glory.

St. Augustine’s College, known for their resilience, are also eyeing their third NSMQ trophy after stunning Pope John SHS and Amaniampong SHS in a dramatic semifinal comeback.

With all three schools boasting proud legacies and passionate fan bases, the 2025 finale is set to deliver an unforgettable showdown — one that will test not just intelligence, but strategy, composure, and school pride
