Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo is set to embark on a new chapter in his career, completing a move to English Championship side Plymouth Argyle FC.

The 25-year-old successfully passed a mandatory medical examination ahead of signing a long-term contract with the Greens.

Plymouth Argyle reached an agreement with Swedish club IF Elfsborg on December 31, 2024, to secure Baidoo's services. The talented attacking midfielder will be the club's first acquisition in the January transfer window.

Baidoo was present at Home Park Stadium this afternoon, watching Argyle's thrilling 2-2 draw against Bristol City from the directors' area in the Lower Mayflower Grandstand.

The Pilgrims staged an impressive comeback after trailing by two goals, securing a crucial point in their fight to climb out of the relegation zone.

Baidoo’s arrival comes as Plymouth transitions under a new manager following the departure of Wayne Rooney, who left the club at the bottom of the Championship table.

The former Vision FC player has been a standout performer at IF Elfsborg over the past two seasons. In the recently concluded 2024 Swedish Allsvenskan League, he netted 10 goals and provided four assists.

Additionally, he made a significant impact in the Europa League qualification phase, contributing five goals and three assists in 14 matches.
