A fierce late-night fire tore through portions of a three-bedroom house in Nsawam-Ahodjo Old Town, triggering an urgent response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

The Suhum Municipal Fire Station received the emergency call at 12:10 a.m. and deployed a six-member response team, led by STNO II Antwi Forson, reaching the scene just two minutes later.

Residents said they noticed thick smoke billowing from the roof and quickly alerted firefighters.

Upon arrival, the crew found the structure already engulfed and immediately attacked the flames using a charged hose line. Firefighters managed to bring the situation under control within an hour and extinguished the blaze completely after almost two hours.

The fire caused extensive damage, consuming household items including a refrigerator, mattress, ceiling fan, cooking utensils, and various personal belongings.

Thankfully, no one was injured.

GNFS officials have begun investigations to determine what sparked the incident.
