Residents of Ahyia Yeboah, a community near Sokode-Juaso close to Akyem Kukurantumi in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region, have been gripped by fear and shock after the body of a man reported missing was discovered in a river.
The deceased, identified as Kwadwo Debrah, a civilian staff member at Burma Camp, was reported missing on November 16, 2025, by his elder brother, Emmanuel Kwakye Daria, a 45-year-old farmer from Akyem Kukurantumi.
According to the report, Debrah had travelled to Foforfo to retrieve a mobile phone but never returned home.
On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, a search party made up of community members discovered his body in the Bediasi River.

Meanwhile, the police have arranged for a pathologist to oversee the retrieval and examination of the body from the river.
This is expected to help establish the exact cause of death, amid growing speculation within the community.
