England-based Ghanaian stars Mohammed Kudus and Kamaldeen Sulemana paid a visit to the Black Stars camp in London as the team gears up for their Unity Cup semifinal clash against Nigeria.

Although the Premier League duo were left out of coach Otto Addo's 23-man squad for the tournament due to minor injuries, they made time to support their teammates during preparations.

Kudus, who plays for West Ham United, and Sulemana of Southampton both endured challenging seasons, with the latter’s side suffering relegation to the English Championship.

Despite their absence on the pitch, their presence in camp has lifted spirits as Ghana prepares for the high-stakes encounter at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Coach Otto Addo has used their absence to inject fresh talent into the squad, including a call-up for promising FC Nordsjaelland midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi.

Addo emphasized the importance of giving young players a platform to compete, saying, “Team building is a process that takes time, and it's not something that happens overnight.

Therefore, this is a great opportunity to give some of our young players a chance to prove themselves. Our aim is to create competition within the team, which can only be achieved by providing an equal platform for all our talents to showcase their skills.”

Ghana will open their campaign today with a clash against long-time rivals Nigeria, in what promises to be a thrilling installment of the historic "Jollof derby." The winner of the semifinal will go on to face Jamaica, who edged Trinidad and Tobago 3-2 on Tuesday, in the Unity Cup final at the same venue.
