Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Kudus scored his second goal of the 2024/25 Premier League season during West Ham United’s 4-1 away defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
Kudus opened the scoring in the 18th minute, turning in a Jarrod Bowen cross after missing a similar chance earlier. The Ghanaian's goal gave West Ham a brief lead, but Spurs quickly responded.
Dejan Kulusevski equalized for Tottenham in the 36th minute, with his shot squeezing in off both posts.
Spurs continued to dominate in the second half, taking control after bringing on Pape Matar Sarr for James Maddison.
Yves Bissouma put Tottenham ahead in the 52nd minute, finishing a Destiny Udogie cutback.
Son Heung-min added a third, with his shot deflecting off Jean-Clair Todibo after West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola parried the initial effort.
Son then tucked in another goal five minutes later to seal Spurs' victory.
The match took a dramatic turn late on when Kudus was sent off after a VAR review showed him pushing both Pape Matar Sarr and Micky van de Ven in the face.
The red card means Kudus will miss West Ham’s next match against Manchester United at the London Stadium.
Kudus' goal, however, saw him equal Asamoah Gyan's Premier League record for a Ghanaian with 10 goals.
The midfielder has now made eight appearances for West Ham this season, scoring twice under manager Julen Lopetegui.
