23rd December 2024
Mohammed Kudus scored his third goal of the season in the Premier League to earn West Ham United a valuable point against Brighton & Hove Albion in a thrilling 1-1 draw at home.
The Ghana international pounced on a rebound in the 64th minute after Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen parried a fierce shot from Jarrod Bowen into his path.
Kudus made no mistake, heading the ball into the net to level the score.
Brighton had taken the lead just six minutes into the second half through Matts Wieffer, who capitalized on a poor clearance from West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski to put the visitors ahead.
Kudus was a constant threat throughout the match, playing on the left wing before switching to the right, where he caused problems for Brighton defender Pervis Estupinan.
The 24-year-old played the full 90 minutes, showcasing his quality and influence on the pitch as West Ham secured a hard-fought point.
In the second half, Tariq Lamptey, Kudus' Ghanaian compatriot, came on for Brighton in the 68th minute, replacing Joel Veltman.
