Mohammed Kudus sparks speculation after attending Arsenal vs. PSG match
2nd October 2024
West Ham midfielder Mohammed Kudus has recently drawn attention after being spotted at Arsenal's Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night, just days following a reported altercation with his manager, Julen Lopetegui.
Kudus, who joined West Ham last summer for a fee of 38.5 million euros, was previously linked with top clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Brighton.
His start to the current season has been challenging, especially after a standout debut campaign where he scored 14 goals and provided seven assists.
This season, however, he has struggled to find the net, partly due to being played out of position on the left wing.
The tension between Kudus and Lopetegui reportedly peaked during a 1-1 draw against Brentford, where they had a heated exchange in the dressing room.
Kudus was allegedly frustrated after being singled out for criticism and had to be restrained by teammates.
He was substituted at halftime, with Lopetegui describing the decision as a "tactical move." Many fans, however, have placed the blame for Kudus' underwhelming performance on the manager's tactics.
Just days after this incident, Kudus was seen at the Emirates Stadium supporting his friend and fellow Ghanaian, Thomas Partey, during Arsenal's 2-0 victory over PSG.
This sighting has led to speculation regarding his future, especially since some Arsenal fans are dreaming of a reunion, given that Kudus has a release clause in his West Ham contract that becomes active next summer.
Despite the speculation surrounding his attendance at the match, insiders have downplayed the severity of his altercation with Lopetegui.
All eyes are now on whether Kudus will make his way back into the starting lineup for West Ham's upcoming Premier League match against Ipswich.
