Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu has hailed AS Monaco head coach Adi Hütter as one of the finest coaches he has worked with, expressing admiration for the Austrian's tactical philosophy and leadership.
Speaking ahead of Monaco's recent Ligue 1 encounter against Olympique Marseille, Salisu drew comparisons between Hütter and his former coach Ralph Hasenhüttl, under whom he played at Southampton in the English Premier League.
“He is similar to one of my former coaches in England, Ralph Hasenhüttl. He has the same philosophy of play based on high pressing, a style that I particularly like and that corresponds to mine,” Salisu stated.
The 24-year-old center-back, who recently returned from an injury sustained during Ghana's 2025 AFCON qualifiers, also highlighted Monaco's improvements under Hütter.
“I feel like we have progressed a lot between last season and this one. So I would say that he is one of the best coaches I have worked under in my career.”
Despite Salisu’s full-match participation, Monaco fell to a 2-1 defeat against Marseille, a result that interrupted their strong Ligue 1 campaign.
Currently sitting third in the league standings, Monaco remains in contention for European qualification under Hütter’s leadership.
Hütter, known for his success with Red Bull Salzburg and Young Boys, has implemented a high-pressing style at Monaco, which Salisu believes complements his strengths as a defender.
The Ghanaian is expected to play a key role as Monaco pushes for further success this season.
