Ghanaian International, Mohammed Sofo, on Saturday, May 24, 2025 scored his third MLS goal for New York Red Bulls in a late 95th minute climaxing winner, cementing his side’s dominance as they beat DC United by two unanswered goals.

Despite not starting the game, the 20-year-old came on as a 79th minute substitute for Colombian international, Wikelman as he suddenly found his feet in the game without stress, dazzling effortlessly and efficiently for his side until he got his chance to seal the victory for his side by scoring a last-minute goal, climaxing the game in a very delightful manner.

The 20-year-old has been an instrumental figure upfront for the Bulls in recent games as his numbers add up to getting his side into the top 10 on the MLS ladder. He has now amassed 6 goals in all two competitions he has featured in so far— the MLS and the MLS Open Cup, scoring three goals apiece in both.

It has been a back-to-back scoring routine for the Ghanaian lad as he scored also in his most recent game in the MLS Open Cup quarterfinals against Ghanaian compatriot, Lalas Abubakar’s FC Dallas, scoring a crucial goal in the 2-2 stalemate which propelled his side to extra time and subsequently winning the game through penalties.

The former JMG Academy product has set his sights on clinching a major trophy for New York Red Bulls in his debut season as he continues to excel in various aspects of the game and scoring goals to reach that feat.
