Ghanaian midfielder Enoch Morisson produced a moment of brilliance to inspire Gor Mahia FC to a commanding 3-0 victory over Kenya Commercial Bank FC in the Kenyan Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
The former Asante Kotoko SC man broke the deadlock with a thunderous strike from distance, a goal that lifted the home crowd and set the tone for an assured performance. Spotting space outside the box, Morisson unleashed a powerful effort that flew past the goalkeeper, handing Gor Mahia the early advantage.
His influence did not stop at the opening goal. The 24-year-old controlled the tempo in midfield, linked up play efficiently and constantly drove his side forward. His composure and energy proved too much for Kenya Commercial Bank, who struggled to contain Gor Mahia’s attacking momentum.
Two further goals sealed a comprehensive win for the hosts, but it was Morisson’s performance that stood out. He was deservedly named Most Valuable Player after an impressive all-round display that underlined his growing importance to the team.
For Morisson, it was another statement performance in East Africa, continuing to build on the promise he showed during his time in Ghana. If Sunday’s display is anything to go by, Gor Mahia have found a midfielder capable of turning matches with a single strike.
